Philodendron hastatum 'Silver Sword'

Light: Bright, indirect light is best. Avoid harsh direct sunlight, which can scorch the silvery leaves.

Water: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry. Keep the soil lightly moist but never soggy, and make sure the pot drains well to prevent root rot.

Humidity: It enjoys moderate to high humidity, ideally around 50–60%+. Higher humidity can encourage healthier, larger leaves. 

Temperature: Keep it warm, ideally around 65–85°F. Protect it from cold drafts and sudden temperature drops.

Growth Tip: Give it a moss pole or trellis to climb. As a climbing philodendron, it can produce larger, more mature-looking leaves when given support.

Why we love it: The name hastatum comes from Latin meaning “armed with a spear,” referring to the plant's pointed, sword-like leaves. As the plant matures, its leaves can become more elongated and develop lobes.
